Florida State Seminoles

Every time you get ready to write of Bobby Bowden's Seminoles, the legendary coach does something that makes Florida State football tickets a hot commodity once again. Last year, the 'Noles were left for dead, after suffering a 34-7 drubbing at the hands of their archrival, the Florida Gators. But, thanks to a little help, FSU backed its way into the ACC Championship Game at Jacksonville's Alltel Stadium, where the Seminoles would face Virginia Tech. Led by freshman quarterback Drew Weatherford and an imposing defense, Bobby's boys would stun the heavily favored Hokies, earning a spot in the FedEx Orange Bowl.
At Miami's Pro Players Stadium, the Seminoles would meet the Penn State Nittany Lions and their legendary head coach Joe Paterno. The two winningest coaches in the history of college football, Bowden and Paterno would put on a show for the ages. Eventually, after three overtimes, Paterno would get the best of his colleague in an instant classic.
Bowden entered the year, his 31st season in Tallahassee, with 359 wins, five more than Paterno. With each veteran nearing retirement, the competition between these two fabled sideline generals will be something to keep an eye during the 2006 NCAA Football season.
Bowden isn't planning on relinquishing his lead anytime soon. With some big-time offensive firepower and the typical Florida State defense, the Seminoles are looking to go bowling again this year. Stocky and a good decision maker, Weatherford has all the tools to become the next great Seminole signal caller. As a freshman, Weatherford proved to be the real deal, passing for more than 3,200 yards and 18 touchdowns. He'll be joined in the Florida State backfield by another budding superstar. Senior running back Lorenzo Booker showed glimpses of brilliance last season and has plans on punching the Seminoles' ticket to a BCS National Championship, before heading off to the NFL.
The Seminoles have their hearts set on repeating at ACC Champions and heading to another BCS Bowl Game. The talent is there, and, of course, so is the coaching. The road to ACC Championship Game as always goes through Tallahassee, See Bowden lead the Seminoles against Miami, Clemson, Boston College and Florida with Florida State football tickets from SeminolesTickets.com.
was named a first team freshman All-American by The Sporting News Friday. Rolle has started 11 games for FSU since replacing injured starter Anthony Houllis. He finished the regular season third on the team in tackles to go along with a sack and five pass break-ups. Rolle is currently the only freshman in the ACC in the top 20 for tackles and no other first year player in the conference evens ranks in the top 30.
